The Friends of DalesBus currently has around 300 members but we are keen to encourage more people to join and help support public transport in the Yorkshire Dales.

 

Members receive the following benefits:

  • Members receive a newsletter, including information on public transport changes.
  • Members are able to attend social events and short holidays organised by the group.
  • Members are eligible to apply for a Dales Railcard, irrespective of where they live - see below for further details.

Applying for a Dales Railcard

 

Current members of the Friends of DalesBus are entitled to purchase a Dales Railcard for the special price of £12.50 regardless of where they live. Click here for further details and the application form. A Dales Railcard enables you to save a third off the price of single, day return and standard open return tickets. Travel validity is between all stations on the Leeds-Carlisle and Leeds-Lancaster/Morecambe lines (plus Brampton and Wetheral on the Tyne Valley line) and between Clitheroe/Whalley and Hellifield (Sundays only). Dales Railcards cannot however be used exclusively within the Leeds/Bradford/Skipton area nor exclusively between Carnforth, Lancaster, Bare Lane, Morecambe and Heysham. Dales Railcard holders can take advantage of the annual winter offer when you can travel the routes for a specially reduced fare. Dales Railcards can also be used to purchase Dales Privilege Rover tickets for travel on the DalesBus network and connecting buses on Sundays.
